We at Maisha pride ourselves in sourcing only the finest quality skins from the most exotic destinations in the world.

It’s in the skin. These fashion bags are made from exotic skins, ranging from Adriatic Snake to Python, from Lizard to Stingray — to name just a few.

Why Maisha? It means “life” in Swahili and was inspired by the common phrase, “we carry our lives in our bags”. It stands for embracing the unique exoticness in each of us which we reveal in our style and life’s journey. Capturing this in the design, manufacture, interaction and delivery of our product is our mission.

It’s in the design. The Maisha design philosophy marries exotic innovation and timeless beauty. A classic clutch — with a splash of brilliant red. A useful shoulder tote — with breathtaking accents. A head-turning design — in an understated, creamy brown. A balance of classic, contemporary and quality.

It’s in the quality. Maisha uses only the highest quality skins and puts each bag through a rigorous quality control process. “Maisha was conceived after an incredible trip to Bali, Indonesia where at a local retail store I was able to design my own handbag from local skins. My modesty in my creation was turned into outright amazement when on a trip later that year to San Francisco I was approached by people on the street who wanted to know either where they could purchase my handbag or whether I would sell it to them outright there and then. Truth be told I never looked for exotic, it found me and I merely embraced it.” Designer – Sasha Saretta Muller

With this embracing attitude we have achieved in a short period of time distribution across the USA, Turkey, Namibia and my beautiful home country South Africa. But we are not stopping there and have many more countries in our pipeline.
